About Sloane
I am a passionate Chemistry tutor with over 4 years of experience and a BSc in Medicinal Chemistry. My teaching focuses on helping students understand how advanced spectroscopic techniques reveal the hidden details of molecules. I specialize in NMR, Mass Spectrometry, and X-ray Diffraction, guiding learners through the fascinating process of molecular structure determination. I love teaching how to interpret spectra and use them to elucidate molecular connectivity. Identifying unknown compounds becomes an exciting challenge rather than a daunting task. My strength lies in applying cutting-edge analytical methods to solve complex chemical puzzles. With each session, I aim to make spectroscopy approachable and engaging. I break down complicated concepts into clear, understandable steps. I encourage curiosity and critical thinking, helping students build confidence in their analytical skills. If you want to explore the world of molecules like a detective, join me on this journey. Together, we will unlock the secrets of chemistry through the power of spectroscopy. Let's dive into the science that makes the invisible visible!

My teaching approach in Chemistry is gentle, reflective, and grounded in strong mathematical understanding. I focus on helping students deeply connect with concepts rather than memorizing them. Whether it's Physical Chemistry, Quantum Mechanics in Chemistry, Chemical Thermodynamics, or Statistical Mechanics, I guide students to see the logic and beauty behind every equation and theory. I believe every student has a unique way of thinking. My goal is to support them in discovering that voice while building confidence in solving complex problems. I bring in real-world examples, thought experiments, and even ideas inspired by science fiction to make lessons more relatable and exciting. As a DIY biologist and a science thinker, I love exploring the “what ifs” of science with my students. This makes each session creative and thought-provoking. I also encourage quiet reflection and curiosity, helping learners find inner peace even when working with advanced theories. Through this calm and structured approach, students begin to see chemistry not just as a subject, but as a way of understanding the world. My sessions are welcoming and student-centered, always tailored to individual needs. Together, we explore chemistry at its core—and make it truly our own.
