About Stephanie
My name is Steph, and I am a bilingual junior high math and science teacher. I really enjoy working with teens, and think grades 7-9 are the most fun!
I have a Bachelor of Science in Oceanography, and a Bachelor of Education for Secondary School Science from a francophone university. I have been working with youth for the past ten years as a skiing and sailing instructor and math tutor, and have been in the school stream for the past three years.
I will always support diversity and inclusion in the classroom, and actively make my classroom a space in which all my students feel welcomed, valued and supported.

I believe in making the lesson fit the student, and not the student fit the lesson. I use a broad array of resources to find something that will engage my students, and love to work one-on-one to make sure my students get the attention and the tailored experience they need to gain confidence in the subject, and to build their skill base.
In a typical lesson, we will focus on one or two areas that need attention, and work on a plan to continue to improve on those areas between lessons. Because every student is different, I like to ensure we approach the topic in a way that makes sense for the student, and to work only on manageable amounts of information.
My primary area of experience is as a junior high science and math teacher (grades 7-9, ages 11-15), and have experience working with students who are neurodiverse. I can also tutor students in science for grades 10 and 11, and I can do it all in French as well!
