About Karla
I was born in Mexico, my parents brought me to the United States when I was only 3 years old. My parents did not speak any English. I was raised to speak Spanish at home, but I quickly learned how to flip a switch in my brain to understand my English-speaking teachers & friends at school. As soon as I walked through the doors of my home, I was required to speak strictly Spanish; English was not allowed at home. The transitioning between languages became 2nd nature to me. Not only was I an honor-roll student, I also had to translate important documents to my parents due to their lack of fluency. This deepened my understanding of both languages at the same time during my upbringing. Given my background, I hope you choose to learn Spanish with me! Keep in mind that I’m very thorough when it comes to grammar, spelling, & pronunciation!
