About Derin

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I’ve always dreamed of becoming a primary school teacher. I’ve had hands-on experience working with primary school children, helping them learn and grow. I’ve also done peer mentoring, teaching Year 7 students about mental health, and supported students one-on-one, for example helping a child improve their reading skills at school.

About the lesson

I focus on fun, personalised learning tailored to each student’s goals. Lessons combine conversation, reading, and grammar exercises, making sure you practise both understanding and speaking Turkish. Typical lessons last 50 minutes to an hour, depending on your needs. I teach beginners and intermediate learners, including kids, GCSE students. I’m also experienced in translation, which allows me to support Turkish families living abroad who want their children to stay connected to their language and culture while growing up in an English-speaking environment. I hold a Turkish GCSE Grade 9 and A Level A*, and I’m currently a university student studying Graphic Design. Teaching has always been a passion, and I adapt my lessons to suit your pace, interests, and learning style.
