About Frances
Teaching is an act of translation where I turn complex theory into manageable physical movements. I admit that I am somewhat obsessed with the exact angle of a bow hair.
My 13 years of instruction have centered on posture and hold, left hand agility, and shifting positions. Music theory acts as the glue for our technical drills regarding scales, arpeggios, and rhythm. We will address spiccato and staccato bowing with calculated intent. Vibrato is treated as a natural extension of the voice.
I provide free bowing and posture reference notes after each lesson to keep your home practice organized. These tools bridge the gap between our meetings. Your progress depends on consistent, deliberate application of these concepts.
