About Arturo

I am a fourth-year medical student at Boston University applying into Anesthesiology. Having received departmental honors while studying chemical and biomolecular engineering at Johns Hopkins, I feel very comfortable teaching the relevant biology/biochemistry and chemistry/physics concepts of the MCAT. I also scored in the 99.9th percentile on the MCAT and after tutoring numerous students in general chemistry and MCAT preparation, I love the process of helping students make their weaknesses into new strengths and get to the medical school of their choosing. I believe that if you're a student of mine at any point, you're a student of mine at every point. I'll happily mentor and provide personal statement workshopping to all my students free of charge.

About the lesson

I use a combination of third party resources and home-made lecture materials to facilitate content review and test-taking practice for the MCAT.

First lesson will serve to establish a personalized study plan leading up to the exam. Subsequent lessons will feature exam practice and content review. Having studied chemical engineering as an undergraduate, I feel uniquely positioned to explain the chemistry and physics topics of the MCAT in a clear and fun way.

Arturo is an excellent tutor! On our first session, he came prepared with a meticulously crafted year-long MCAT prep plan. He had our sessions planned down to the week! What sets him apart is his flexibility with scheduling – he tailors everything to fit my busy schedule.
He is very knowledgeable and well versed in all of the subjects we have covered so far. I appreciate how even when I hit roadblocks, he knows where and how to bridge the learning gaps. He’s great at problem solving and easy to talk to, which I think is one of the things I appreciate most in a tutor.
