About SEEMU
Hello, my name is Seemu Tanwar, and I am passionate about helping students discover the joy of learning mathematics. I hold an MSc in Mathematics and a B.Ed. in Education, and I bring with me over 14 years of teaching and tutoring experience across different curriculums, including US Common Core, Australian Curriculum, and CBSE/NCERT. My teaching philosophy is simple: every student can succeed in maths with the right guidance, patience, and encouragement. I believe in breaking down difficult concepts into clear, manageable steps and using real-life examples to make learning meaningful and engaging. I want to teach because I truly enjoy seeing students build confidence in their abilities. My Approach to Tutoring and Teaching 1. Techniques and Teaching Methodology I begin each lesson by connecting the concept to real-life examples or prior knowledge so students feel engaged and see the relevance. I use a step-by-step explanation style, moving from simple to complex, while constantly checking for understanding with questions, short quizzes, or interactive activities. Visual aids, practice worksheets, and problem-solving exercises are a core part of my method. For younger learners, I often use pictures, games, and interactive tools; for older students, I emphasise logical reasoning, exam strategies, and structured problem-solving. I strongly believe in the “teach–practice–review” cycle: explain clearly, let the student practice independently, then review mistakes together to strengthen understanding. I adapt my pace and style depending on the learner’s needs—slower with more scaffolding for struggling students, faster with enrichment tasks for advanced learners. 2. Typical Length of a Lesson A standard lesson lasts 50–60 minutes, which balances focus and productivity. For younger children (Grades 1–4), I sometimes break lessons into two shorter 25–30 minute blocks with activities in between. For exam preparation or advanced learners, I can extend sessions to 65–70 minutes when necessary. 3. Qualifications and Experience I hold an MSc in Mathematics and a B.Ed. in Education. I have 14 years of teaching experience, including working with international students, particularly from the US, Australia, and CBSE/NCERT curriculums in India. Recently, I have also been tutoring students online, preparing them for school exams, selective tests, and improving their confidence in mathematics and related subjects. 4. Who My Lessons Are For Primary and Middle School students (Grades 3–8): Focus on building strong number sense, problem-solving, and confidence. High School students (up to Grade 10): Algebra, geometry, trigonometry, probability, and exam preparation. International students: Special experience teaching US Common Core, Australian Curriculum, and CBSE. Students who need extra support, enrichment, or targeted exam preparation.
