About Charlee
I have always enjoyed the clarity, structure, and beauty of mathematics, which naturally led me to pursue a B.Sc in Mathematical Studies and build a teaching career focused on student growth and confidence. Over the past seven years, I have worked with learners across a broad range of skill levels, from those developing early arithmetic to students preparing for rigorous exams. Throughout this journey, I have discovered that most students succeed with math when they receive clear explanations, steady encouragement, and patient guidance. I strive to create a classroom atmosphere where students feel supported and empowered. Many learners come to me fearing math or believing they are not “math people,” but I love showing them how understandable the subject becomes when broken into meaningful steps. I use relatable examples, visual demonstrations, and structured practice to help students overcome their challenges. Watching learners gain confidence, celebrate small victories, and gradually build strong mathematical habits is one of the greatest joys of my work. Outside teaching, I continue exploring mathematical thinking through puzzles, problem-solving communities, and research into new educational methods. These experiences help me refine my lessons and make my explanations more intuitive and accessible. I approach every class with enthusiasm, patience, and dedication, making sure each student feels genuinely supported on their learning journey. My goal is to help students not only improve academically but also appreciate mathematics as a powerful tool for understanding the world.

My Maths lessons begin with the foundational concepts of elementary school math, where students learn number operations, place value, early fractions, basic geometry shapes, and essential problem-solving skills. I explain each concept in a gentle, structured way to ensure students feel comfortable and confident from the very beginning. This stage is designed to remove fear and replace it with clarity, helping students understand how numbers behave and how mathematical reasoning develops step by step.
As students advance, we transition into the broader skills of middle school math, where they explore expressions, equations, ratios, coordinate grids, and more detailed geometry. I focus on strengthening reasoning skills, building consistent problem-solving habits, and guiding learners through each topic with visual explanations and clear examples. I take time to address common misunderstandings so students never feel confused or left behind. This middle stage lays the strongest foundation for later success.
For higher-level learning, we dive into deeper algebra, advanced geometry, and focused preparation for SAT math. Students practice approaching multi-step word problems, analyzing relationships, and applying formulas with confidence and accuracy. I incorporate timed practice, breakdown strategies, and clear solution pathways so students feel equipped to handle challenging questions efficiently. My lessons aim to help learners truly understand mathematics, develop confidence in their abilities, and build skills they can use for years to come.
