About Benjamin
I have a BA degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in math education. In addition, I have a math teaching credential in the state of California. I have more than 18 years of classroom math teaching experience. Currently, I teach Pre-Algebra and Algebra 2 in a private school in Los Angeles County. At this private school an estimate of 99% of the students end up going to four-year colleges and universities and a number of them get accepted into Ivy League schools.
Besides being knowledgeable, I plan to be patient, caring and motivating as I help individuals not only become better math problem solvers, but also help them have a growth mindset in the process.

My goal is to help individuals excel in their math courses by incorporating a number of methods and tools I have learned as an educator. The teaching strategy I will incorporate emphasizes the fundamentals of mathematics and I will use a discovery approach where I will guide individuals to discover the key math concepts that are needed to make sense of the math lesson. In this process, I will be teaching problem solving skills that can benefit individuals not only in their math course but also in their other classes. I have incorporated this approach with thousands of students, the past 18 years as an educator, and it had proven to be very effective, regardless of the student's educational background or mental ability.
