Methodology
Hi, my name is Amy Baltazar, and I offer tutoring sessions for elementary children in math, reading, grammar, and social studies. The lessons are structured with a mini warm-up, lesson overview of the concept, homework/practice assignment, going over any questions, and final review. I am a very patient and engaging tutor that works steadily with a child to understand and gain skill in different concepts. I will guide a child along to help them gain the confidence in an area they are working on.
Background
I have been tutoring young children for over several years. Ever since college (I volunteered in a reading literacy program), I have found a passion for working with children, helping them to gain understanding and strengthen their skills in writing, math, and learning new vocabulary. I have taught many students over the years (including students with learning disabilities), and they have reported better grades, increased confidence in their ability, and an overall better feeling in learning new concepts.

I have a Bachelor's of Arts Degree in English and a minor in Spanish from Texas Woman's University. I also have a TEFL Certificate from the Boland School in Brno, Czech Republic. I have tutored for 4 years on Tutapoint.com in the areas of Basic Math, Pre-algebra, Creative Writing, Reading, Spanish, Social Studies, and Elementary Science. I am also a Substitute Teacher for Austin Independent School District and have helped young children (as well as children with special needs) in handwriting, grammar, Reading/phonics, Basic Math, Social Studies, and Science.
