About Ogechi
I'm a mathematics graduate from the University of Nigeria Nsukka who's been tutoring students on mathematics for almost a decade. I'm currently teaching mathematics to SS 1 students at Community Comprehensive Secondary School, Four Towns, Uyo as part of my NYSC program.

Over the years I've seen so many students who believe they will never be good in maths even before they enter a class. This is something I have personally come to call "Mathphobia". With this at the back of my mind, I set out to teach mathematics in a way that my students will appreciate and actually enjoy studying the subject. I do this by breaking down mathematics concepts to the very basics so that the student can actually relate to what they are doing, seeing mathematics as a tool to solve problems they encounter daily and not just something where you cram formulas. This is necessary because it gives the student the motivation needed to solve and tackle a lot of mathematics problem (which I make sure to provide at the end of every class) because as a famous mathematician once said, "Maths is not a spectator sport." You have to get in the arena, solve a lot of problems to achieve competency in the subject. And with my guidance and support, my students eventually come to achieve this competency and in some cases mastery.
