About Clara
I am very passionate about Mathematics learning and teaching. I am due to start a PhD in Applied Mathematics in September. Throughout my studies, I have become more and more familiar with feeling (initially) confused by a new maths concept and feeling irritated with professors who do not take the time to ensure clarity in their teaching. I believe that this has allowed me to empathise with my students in the past and help them with their confidence in maths. I also very much enjoy a challenge and find teaching immensely rewarding.

I have been tutoring for over 5 years now, over a range of ages and levels. I feel that I am able to gauge where a student is at in their learning and what sort of tuition would benefit them the most. I believe that one of the most effective ways to help students with maths is to consolidate basic knowledge by creating 'warm up' questions and then building on that. That being said, I appreciate that in many cases exam prep does not leave a lot of time to improve results. I also have some experience in this area and find that I am able to help students improve in more complex fields effectively.
