About Jenna
I have been learning and speaking French for 8 years thus far. I have experience in business French, conversational, and cultural lessons. My family is Cajun from south Louisiana, so I grew up around the Cajun dialect and I studied for a summer in Québec, Canada. I have also had formal education from people educated in France and Belgium, with phonetic training. French is more than just a language to me, it is a method of connecting to the world since many countries speak it! I love to give fun facts and draw connections with students so that they can feel more immersed in the language even in their day-to-day life!

My teaching method is to use fun lessons and repetition to help review vocabulary, master grammar, and increase both speaking and oral comprehension.
A typical lesson plan might be using current events or specific units to slowly build up confidence in natural situations for students. If learning about the weather, we might start with simple weather vocab, then transition to using the words in full sentences, followed by a conversation about the weather and which ones we like/what we can do during that weather.
As a tutor I am extremely enthusiastic about the language, always modeling patience and motivation. I can teach any level, and can help more when given what problems the student has been having! Knowing what our goals are going in is extremely important; i.e. are we looking for conversational fluency or academic fluency
