About Laurel
I am a dedicated tutor with 7 years of experience teaching Chess to high school and college students. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of mentoring around 300 students, helping them grow from curious beginners to confident, strategic players. My teaching is rooted in personalized learning—I adapt my approach to fit each student’s unique learning style, pace, and goals. Whether it's mastering the fundamentals, improving tactical thinking, or preparing for competitions, I provide structured lessons that balance theory with practical play. I emphasize accountability, critical thinking, and clarity in every session, ensuring students not only understand the game but also enjoy the process of learning. I also incorporate logic-building exercises and real-game analysis to enhance decision-making skills. With a focus on student growth and individual progress, I aim to create a supportive and engaging environment where each learner can thrive. Alongside Chess, I can also support learning in logic-based games and strategic thinking subjects. My goal is to help students think ahead, stay focused, and enjoy every move.
