About Julia
I am a teacher to my core. I started utilizing teaching techniques as a child with my little brother, and then with my kids that I babysat as a teenager. It keeps going on, as I became a college student I obtained my certificate in teaching English as a foreign language. I also studied abroad in Japan and was involved in assisting in Japanese classrooms to help the Japanese students practice their English. I am a dietitian and all I do in my career is teach! I have enjoyed teaching nutrition to all different kinds of people from children to adults, to the elderly, to the sick, to the ones who don't want to learn, to people who don't speak English, to people who can't see, who can't hear, to those who have behavioral issues and mental illnesses, and I have loved my career so far. For the past year I have been homeschooling my own children ages 4, 7, 9, and 13. I especially love teaching English and language acquisition to my little ones but also enjoy teaching a bit more difficult concepts to my older children. I am the most patient person. I love learning and love school and I want my students to love it as well.

My teaching techniques are a delicate approach and to make learning fun. I recognize that many students do not learn by sitting down with a paper and pencil. I love to adjust my delivery to suit each student. For example, I recognized that my daughter cannot sit still and was not into practicing her letter recognition and letter sounds but discovered that she loves playing games on her tablet. We used her game to identify word sounds and she had a blast and was engaged.
