I took igcse maths with Maam Aaliya Hamdani. She is by far the bestest teacher I have ever had and I thank her and miss her everyday. Not only did she make sure I score an A* in my caie but because of her math is my favourite subject till today. She used to call me to her house for extra past paper practice and made sure every single concept was clear. She would help solve any query or problem I had even if i would message her in the middle of the night. I have never come across a teacher so dedicated to a subject. All my other 3 siblings studied from her too and scored as well a grade as I did. Her teaching style is beyond incredible and any student who has studied from her should consider themselves extremely lucky!!

Mrs Aaliya taught us math at O levels for three years and she is the one I owe my love for maths to. She made the lessons interesting and is excellent at communicating the concepts. The ease with which I can do derivations and undertake related math problems would not have been possible without the strong mathematical base that Ms Aaliya helped us develop. She is a wonderful teacher who genuinely cares about the learning needs of her students. She is great at explaining mathematical concepts which is why I never had much trouble with the subject when I was her student for years in junior and high school. Teacher syda aliya has been one of the most outstanding and hardworking teachers that I've ever met. Guiding me through all the weaknesses i had in mathematics, with patience and drive to make me the best, are one of her many fascinating qualities. Ma'am Hamdani has worked for many years at the International Grammar School and College. When I was in elementary school she was teaching O'level and A'level classes for mathematics. Throughout the years I heard praises from the older students of how well she taught and how she was always available for anyone looking for extra help, be it during school time or as an after school tutor. Upon entering highschool, i found this to be true. On one occasion in elementary school I remember visiting the Principal's office as our teacher was absent due to illness and being the class leader, had to report it. Being in the office made me nervous, but while waiting for the Principal Ma'am Hamdani decided to talk to me. Of course I was a little shocked however by the time the Principal came, I was all laughter and giggles.
Besides being a mathematics teacher, she was also the coordinator for the O'level and A'level sections. There was never a time where she neglected her duties. She was kind and loving to her students, took our opinions for trips and the like, looked out for our safety, did not tolerate or encourage appalling behaviour, and also acted upon the complaints sometimes made by students regarding the teachers.
While I cannot say much for her relationships with her colleagues, from what I have observed over the years is that they all get along splendidly, being friends outside of work even. This is part of what I believe made her a good coordinator.
Personally, I was very happy with her as my teacher/coordinater and was fortunate to graduate from highschool while she was still teaching at IGS. That is a sentiment I believe is reciprocated by other graduates for quite a few times, for they come by every now and then to see her and the principal ( and most of them have their own jobs by then!)

Mrs. Hamdani has cultivated in me a love for mathematics because I have not known any person more passionate about the subject than her, having studied from her for at least 3-4 years in grade school throughout my O-Levels. As a consequence she helped open my mind to the beauty of mathematics and consider many problems in different ways. She has helped me develop critical and quick thinking skills, and also helped me become a more logical person. She is kind and patient, and always considers the student's individual needs and always knows how to change her approach to match the level her student is at; she is easy to get along with and is very understanding and empathetic. She also has a great sense of humour! There are fewer teachers I have appreciated and respected more than Mrs. Hamdani.

Miss Aaliya is one of the best teachers I have ever had in my entire life. I was never good at Mathematics and without even me asking her, she offered to tutor me so that I can get a decent grade. I went from getting F’s or D’s in Math to receiving a B during my final exams. She is very helpful, extremely professional and makes sure that you as a student are getting the help you need. I’ve known Ms. Aaliya for many years and I can say without hesitation that she is a very dedicated and hard working instructor. A story that i repeatedly share. It was a few years back when i was a month away from attempting my IGCSE Finals, i was nevertheless very distracted throughout classes and that certainly affected my grades, especially maths of all subjects! With an “UNGRADED” mark in my Mock exam just a month prior to my finals, Mrs Aaliya proved through her excellency in knowledge to guide and teach me a term’s worth of Course in under a month. I ended up with a “C” grade in Maths! For a troublesome student, It was definitely worth it. I always think to myself, “ if it took my respected Ma’am just a month to get me a C! I would have without doubt ended up with an “A*” if I had been focused for two months!! Talk about a whole Year! You’re appreciated Ma’am!
