About Abby
Hi, I'm Abby and I'm a historian.
I graduated from the University of Southampton with a First-Class Honours for my BA and a Distinction for my MA in history in 2021 and 2022 respectively. I am currently preparing to start PhD study.
In 2023 I founded a historical publication platform, The HERstory Project, on which we research, write and publish accessible history.
I have tutored history since my undergraduate study and have a tried and tested method of planning and teaching my students to their educational requirements to achieve the best results for them.

I can provide lessons to suit your schedule between 1 and 2 hours, either on a regular or ad hoc basis.
Ad hoc sessions can be beneficial for homework, essay writing sessions and similar, however, for a larger goal, I recommend a regular lesson plan.
For regular sessions:
In the first lesson I work with the student to find a methodology of teaching and learning which works best for them. This first session serves as an introductory session for me to learn what the student already knows, and for me to ensure that they have a basis of knowledge to build upon moving forwards. I will then tailor the teaching of the subject to the student and begin a tutoring plan which can last for a minimum of 3 lessons. I provide regular informal tests and homework for the students so that I can best develop our lessons for their success.
For School Age students I provide a tailored study plan to suit their educational needs which we will then work through together. These study plans can be to teach a topic from scratch, provide supplementary tutoring to school studies, or be a revision plan for upcoming exams. I can also run sessions in essay writing and exam preparation more generally.

For Undergraduate students I offer a bespoke service for the improvement of writing and engagement with historical research, including:

- essay writing sessions, proofreading, exam preparation, article writing and editing
