About Zohar
I offer personalized music lessons for students of all ages and levels, from complete beginners to advanced musicians. Lessons are tailored to each student’s goals, interests, and learning style.
My areas of instruction include piano, keyboard, jazz improvisation, music theory, ear training, composition, arranging, and saxophone. For beginner piano students, I focus on building a strong foundation in technique, rhythm, note reading, creativity, and musical confidence. For intermediate and advanced students, lessons can include improvisation, harmony, jazz language, repertoire, and performance skills.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree from The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music and a Master’s degree from Manhattan School of Music. As a professional musician and educator with over 15 years of teaching experience, I combine high-level musical training with a patient, supportive, and engaging teaching approach.
In addition to my private teaching experience, I have worked as a Hebrew and Jewish educator in New York City schools and congregations, where professionalism, communication, reliability, and creating a safe learning environment are essential. I take great pride in being punctual, well-prepared, and committed to helping each student succeed.
My goal is to make learning music inspiring, enjoyable, and rewarding while helping each student develop the skills they need to grow as musicians and creative artists.
