About Mykhaylo

Hi! I’m currently an Engineering student at the University of Toronto, fluent in both Mandarin and English.

I grew up in a traditional Chinese household but completed my secondary education through the international IGCSE and IB curricula. This background helps me understand how to teach Mandarin to students from different cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

I’m passionate about Chinese literature and culture, and have written a research paper on preserving Chinese intangible cultural heritage through modern technology.

I’m also familiar with both Chinese and Western social media and trends. My goal is to make learning Mandarin fun, practical, and engaging by combining traditional knowledge with modern, everyday conversations!

About the lesson

As a fluent speaker of both Chinese and English, I can effectively communicate with students from different linguistic backgrounds and explain complex Chinese concepts in an accessible way. My passion for Chinese literature gives me a strong appreciation for the language and its cultural depth, while my familiarity with both Chinese and Western social media allows me to connect traditional Chinese learning with modern trends and everyday conversations. I aim to make Chinese lessons engaging, practical, and culturally relevant, helping students not only with language proficiency but also genuine interest in Chinese cultures.
