I'm a professional Mandarin tutor with rich experience.

I have established a unique and efficient way to help non-native speakers improve their Mandarin fast with my years of teaching experience.

For example, you may find Chinese characters really hard to remember and you may always miss one stroke or two, but do you know that Chinese characters are combinations of simple components? I use a writing curriculum based on the fact that westerners' mind is hardwired to see “building blocks” so that you can first learn the easy-to remember “pieces” of Chinese characters, by doing this, a Chinese character is no longer a dreaded thing with 15 lines to remember, instead it will be a combination of 3 simple pictures you are already very familiar with! See, isn’t that more efficient and enjoyable?

I have a Master of Arts as well as a Bachelor of Arts in education, and I was a Chinese history teacher in an international school in Canton, so I know very well about Chinese history and culture. You can learn lots of interesting stories about this fascinating country with 5000 years of culture; thus you will not only learn Mandarin but also understand Chinese culture.

I am good at making handcraft especially Chinese Paper Cutting, a kind of artwork in China that dated back to the second century BC., and it is a traditional part of Chinese culture. In addition, I am also good at Chinese calligraphy which is a form of calligraphy widely practiced in China. To make your learning journey more fun, I have embedded these forms of artwork in my curriculum.

SCOPE

Learners of all levels are welcome, especially beginners, HSK takers, GCSE, A-level students who need help passing Mandarin exams.

Casual and business learners are also welcome.

FEES

Only £25 per hour or £45 for a two-hour session, for 1 on 1 lessons.

Also, you can get a 10% discount If you book more than 8 lessons in advance, which would be £22.5 per hour.

LOCATION

Lessons are normally taught in Central London. However, I can also meet you somewhere near your residence in a coffee shop or your local library if you prefer (however with any transport expenses reimbursed by students).
