About Nathaniel
Most English tutoring treats pronunciation as an afterthought. Mine doesn't. I'm a linguist with a PhD focused on how language actually works, not just how it's meant to be taught, and I bring that into every lesson.
I've spent 26 years teaching English across levels and purposes, from general conversation to professional communication to exam-focused preparation. I hold a Griffith University research position and I currently lead academic quality at a Brisbane English language school, so the methods I use are ones I'd stand behind in an academic setting, not just a tutoring one.

How I teach
No generic worksheets. I build the syllabus around what you're actually trying to achieve and where the gap sits, whether that's fluency, grammar, or the specific sounds of English that don't exist in your first language. Phonetics is where I can offer something most tutors can't: a precise, technical understanding of why a sound isn't landing and how to fix it.
