About Aarushi
I have recently completed my A Levels in History, English Literature and Maths. I achieved all 9s at GCSE (scoring 167/168 in my GCSE history) and currently hold an offer to study History and Politics at the University of Cambridge starting in October. Although I have never tutored formally before, I have extensive experience in mentoring KS3 and GCSE students in History, English language/literature and Maths, having been a tutor for younger years throughout my time in sixth form. I have a friendly and approachable personality which has always made my mentees feel at ease and ready to learn. I am also very good at breaking problems down and helping students work through them step-by-step, explaining things slowly and thoroughly. I hope to build on these skills which I have acquired through my mentoring experience by undertaking some part-time work as a tutor.

I like to make my tutoring as flexible as possible, adapting to what the student tells me they want to work on each week. For History and English, my approach focuses on essay writing and exam technique, as the area which students tend to struggle most with. I like to build skills such as essay planning and writing under timed conditions, providing detailed feedback on all work produced. I am also keen on discussion-based learning, allowing the student to talk through their ideas on a one-to-one basis in each session, in order to make the lessons as active and engaging as possible. Above all, I am committed to tailoring every lesson to the student's personal needs, and will adjust my approach accordingly once I get to know them and their style of learning.
