About Gemma
I am a fully qualified FE art and design teacher specialising in A-Level Photography. I have a degree in Visual Communication. Because I teach the Eduqas specification week in, week out, I understand the unique grading nuances, sketchbook layouts, and essay weightings that differ from other exam boards like AQA or Edexcel. I am also happy to tutor work from these specifications.
My areas of expertise include:
Component 1 (Personal Investigation): Helping you seamlessly integrate your 1,000–3,000 word critical study with your practical shoots.
The 4 Assessment Objectives (AOs): Ensuring your sketchbooks clearly document your contextual research (AO1), technical experimentation (AO2), purposeful recording (AO3), and final meaningful outcomes (AO4).
Component 2 (Externally Set Assignment): Fast-tracking your mind-mapping and shoot planning when the exam paper drops in January.
Technical Mastery: the creative journey of your project. Digital manipulation, and curation for higher education/university interviews.
