About Ivan Marc

I hold a bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from Durham University, where I graduated in 2023. My academic journey at Durham equipped me with a comprehensive understanding of various aspects of law, including tort law, criminal law, contract law, and the English legal system (legal areas covered in A-level curriculum).

Before my university years, I completed my A-levels at Campbell College in Belfast, achieving excellent results with an A* in Spanish, an A in History, and an A in Business Studies. This well-rounded educational background reflects my commitment to diverse disciplines and provides me with a holistic perspective to enrich your learning experiences.

I possess an international background as I am originally from Spain, but I spent most of my life in South Africa where I completed my GCSE equivalent qualification. In addition, my international background is further emphasised by the fact that speak three languages natively these being Spanish, Catalan and English. Hence, allowing me to possess an open and flexible mindset which is necessary in the legal realm as the law is constantly changing and evolving.

In addition to my academic pursuits and global background, I'm an avid sports enthusiast with a deep love for rugby and cricket. I passionately played both sports throughout my school and university years. My dedication to sports aligns with my teaching philosophy, emphasizing teamwork, discipline, and dedication as key attributes for success in both the legal realm and life.

Furthermore, I am continually expanding my legal knowledge through my role at Forenzix, a financial litigation consultancy. This practical experience allows me to offer well-informed and effective teaching, providing real-world insights that go beyond the textbook.

I aim to foster a strong student-teacher dialogue during lessons, encouraging questions and discussions to deepen understanding. I use real-world examples and practical insights from my experience at Forenzix to bring legal concepts to life. This approach helps students grasp complex legal concepts and their practical applications.

Typical Length of a Lesson:
My lessons typically last for one hour. This duration allows for focused learning and engagement while ensuring that the material is digestible and not overwhelming for the students.

Qualifications and Experience:
I hold a bachelor's degree in law (LLB) from Durham University, where I achieved a high 2:1. My academic background includes in-depth studies in various areas of law, including tort law, criminal law, contract law, and the English legal system. Additionally, I have practical experience in financial litigation through my role at Forenzix, a startup legal tech consultancy.
