About Aidan
Hi, I’m Aidan — an enthusiastic PE tutor with a strong academic background in sport, exercise and human performance.
My love for PE started at school, where I achieved an 8 in GCSE PE before going on to study A-Level PE, achieving an A*. I enjoyed the subject so much that I decided to continue studying sport and exercise at university, graduating with a degree in Sport & Exercise Science from Newcastle University in June 2025.
Having recently been through the GCSE and A-Level PE exam system myself, I understand what it takes to achieve the highest grades. I know that knowing the content is only part of the challenge — understanding how to apply it to exam questions, use the mark scheme effectively and structure answers to pick up those extra marks is just as important.
This is what I particularly enjoy helping students with. My lessons can focus on past-paper questions, exam technique, identifying gaps in knowledge, improving written answers and working through coursework, tailored to the specific requirements of your exam board.
Alongside tutoring, I am currently completing a Degree Apprenticeship in Dietetics with the NHS, where I continue to develop my knowledge of physiology, nutrition, health and human performance.
During my Sport & Exercise Science degree, my dissertation contributed to a wider research project that was subsequently published in the European Journal of Physiology. This gave me valuable experience of scientific research and evidence-based practice, which I enjoy bringing into my teaching.
Sport remains a huge part of my life outside of studying and tutoring. I’m a keen runner with a particular interest in performance, training and sports nutrition.

These sessions are designed specifically for students who want to improve their exam performance, practise applying their knowledge and get targeted feedback on where they can pick up more marks.
Rather than simply working through questions and moving on, I make each session an opportunity to identify exactly where you are losing marks and what you can do to improve.
Exam Practice
Before each session, I can select relevant questions from past papers across your specific exam board, or create exam-style questions based on the topics you want to practise.
We will work through the questions together, with you answering each question and receiving live feedback after each one. I can explain where marks have been gained or lost, how your answer could be improved, and what examiners are looking for in a high-quality response.
I will keep track of your scores and the types of questions you find difficult throughout our sessions. This allows us to identify specific areas of weakness rather than simply revising everything.
At the end of the session, I can give you clear areas to work on independently before our next lesson. At the beginning of the following session, I’ll use questions related to those areas to check your understanding and see whether you've improved before moving on to more exam practice.
This creates a continuous cycle of practice → feedback → targeted revision → reassessment, helping you steadily improve your exam technique and performance.
Coursework Support
I can also provide support with PE coursework and written assignments, helping you understand what the task is asking, structure your work effectively and apply your knowledge accurately.
Where appropriate, we can work through sections of your coursework together, identify areas that need improvement and discuss how you can strengthen your work while ensuring that the final work remains your own.
The aim is to make every session focused, useful and tailored to you, so that you're not just completing more questions — you're understanding why you're gaining or losing marks and learning how to perform better independently.

Aidan helped me with A Level PE, I just needed a few lessons quickly before an exam and Aidan accommodated me at short notice and was very good at explaining things to me and tried to link things to football which I really liked.
I first met Aidan when I took my younger daughter to a holiday camp. He was excellent with her and we started speaking and I found out that he was sports science student and asked him if he would tutor my eldest son. He agreed and taught him biology and pe GCSE and done an excellent job. My son went from predicted grade 4s to receieving 6 and 7s in pe and biology. Aidan is a smart young man with great interpersonal skills.

Details
£20 lesson fee includes a 1h lesson and i will prepare resources such as past paper questions in advance of the lessons.
If you wish to learn content and then go over practice questions, i can put together some tailored resources in my own time ahead of the lessons. This will be £30 per session (1h for the lesson and 30 minutes personal preparation time for me).
I offer both online and in-person sessions. For in-person lessons, a small travel fee is applied to cover the time it takes to get to you and any transport costs. This ensures I can give your lesson the full focus it deserves.
The travel fee is calculated based on:
Time spent travelling – I charge for the minutes it takes to travel to and from your location, at the same rate as the lesson.
Distance travelled – A small mileage contribution to cover fuel and transport costs.
For example, if a round trip takes 40 minutes and is 10 miles, the travel fee would be roughly £23, in addition to the standard lesson fee.
This method keeps pricing fair and transparent, and ensures you’re only paying for the extra time and travel needed to deliver a high-quality in-person lesson.
