About Maharani
I graduated from Dance Education, State University of Semarang and then continued my Masters in Performing Arts Studies at UGM. Since 2013, I have routinely provided private lessons on traditional dance individually and in groups for the benefit of student exchanges, dance performances, and dance competitions. In addition, I taught extracurricular dance for 3 years in middle school, and was a dance coach for 5 years at the Dance Studio in Semarang. Some of the students I trained won dance competitions and performed traditional dance abroad. The basis for my dance is the Surakarta style Javanese dance, which I later developed by practicing creative dances and other Indonesian dances. Through this experience, I want to share experiences and also learn together to get to know the body of traditional dance in Indonesia.
