About Tamali
Hello! I am a passionate vocalist and having musical background specialising in traditional Bengali music. Music has been the guiding force of my life, and I have spent years training deeply in its core disciplines. My background bridges foundational Indian Classical music with the rich, diverse styles of Bengal.
My musical expertise covers:
Basic Classical Music: Grounded in Hindustani classical voice culture, raagas, and taalas, which form the backbone of all my vocal training.
Rabindra Sangeet & Nazrul Geeti: Specialised in the authentic presentation, emotional delivery, and distinct styling required for the timeless compositions of Rabindranath Tagore and Kazi Nazrul Islam.
Adhunik Bengali Songs: Experienced in performing and teaching modern Bengali melodies, blending classical sensibilities with contemporary rhythms and lighter, lyrical formats.

Every voice is completely unique, and my goal as a teacher is to help you or your child find yours through a structured, supportive, and joyful learning environment.
My teaching philosophy bridges classical discipline with cultural expression. My lesson will start from very basic and focus on:
Classical for Beginners: If you or your child are completely new to singing, I start right from the basics, focus on foundational Indian classical voice culture, including proper breath control, simple alankars (vocal exercises), and an easy-to-understand introduction to basic raagas. This ensures you build excellent vocal stamina and perfect pitch from day one.
The Bengali Repertoire (Rabindra Sangeet & Nazrul Geeti): I will dive into the timeless melodies and deep poetry of Rabindra Sangeet and Nazrul Geeti. I don't just teach the lyrics and notes, I focus heavily on correct pronunciation, emotional expression, and the style required to sing these classical-based regional masterpieces authentically.
Adhunik Gaan (Modern Bengali Songs): Beyond the traditional classics, I also teach Adhunik music. These modern melodies are fantastic for learners of all ages, helping students enjoy a broader variety of rhythms and lighter, contemporary musical expressions while keeping their connection to Bengali culture alive.
