About Marie
I have worked as a private tutor of French as a foreign language for quite a few years, since 2006 to be precise. I have taught all kinds of learners, from 4 to 35, from school students to professionals, from beginners to intermediate learners. All my students were able to boost their level of French, some of them even managed to get a few extra points on their tests. Now, of course, student dedication is key to the process of learning so the more you practice, the better you get.
I normally teach lessons of 90 minutes. However, I can also arrange lessons for 60 minutes or 120 minutes.
I am the holder of a master's degree in translation, a master's degree in conference interpreting, and in 2017 I graduated from a postgraduate diploma of French as a foreign language! Also, in January 2018, I passed the United Nations freelance accreditation test for French interpreters working with English and Spanish.

This is a call for everyone who knows that there is more to learning languages than "c'est la vie"!
Born and bred in a small town in the French Alps, I headed off to live in Mexico for a year to learn Spanish when I was 17. It was the beginning of a never-ending love story! I have spent the subsequent decade going back and forth between Europe and Latin America, most recently spending nine months in Chile in 2016.
A UN-accredited French interpreter since January 2018, I am the holder of two master's degrees (one in translation and one in conference interpreting), and my passion for foreign languages and cultures has always been reflected in my studies. And throughout my time at university and beyond, teaching has been the perfect way for me to share my passion for speaking and learning foreign languages.
I specialise in teaching French and Spanish as foreign languages. I use a range of diverse materials, from traditional textbooks to articles on current affairs, to ensure a lively and modern learning experience. I will only teach you useful and up-to-date expressions; words and sentences that you can use on your holidays or in business meetings without giving the impression that you have just stepped out of a classroom in the 1960s!
Whatever your age and level, I would be delighted to meet up to discuss your language needs. My classes are relaxed and specially adapted to your needs. The first meeting is free and is always dedicated to getting to know each other and finding out what you are looking to get out of the classes, as well as choosing a time and place that suits your routine.

Marie was a great teacher. I already knew a bit of French but Marie helped me improve my level to take B2 test, required for me to study in France for a semester, in the ESCP. Her lessons were dynamic and interactive; she gave me clear explanations whenever I struggled with some grammar rules. She was always very patient and did not mind repeating me the examples, vocabulary, exercises or any other information. She also gave me a great insight into de French culture, which made my cultural immersion much easier.
