About Jamal
I have been teaching various subjects in different institutions and universities. I teach language courses (English and French), Communication and Media Studies, including Journalism. I have taught at Languages Internationale, University of the Philippines-Diliman, Far Eastern University and FEATI University. I have a Diplome in French Language from Alliance Française and a Masters in Media Studies, specializing in Film and Journalism from UP Diliman, with highest grades (GPA of ~1.0), Best Masters Thesis Award of the College of Mass Communication while being President of the Graduate Students' Assn. for two years.

My teaching method for language learning is a combination of 4 approaches: Communicative Language Teaching (using language to Communicate instead of just learning Grammar rules), Task-Based Teaching (Give students something meaningful to accomplish), Explicit teaching when needed (Explain -> Demonstrate -> Practice -> Communicate -> Correct), and Space Retrieval & Recycling (Move their vocabulary from Recognition to Recall to Spontaneous Use).
A Typical Lesson Plan:

The methods change accdg. to level: Beginner (A1-A2), Intermediate (B1-B2),and Advanced (C1-C2)
A good tutor knows English. A great tutor knows how to make another person learn English. or any subject. That's me. I've been teaching for decades to Senior High School, undergraduate and graduate students on various subjects - from English to Communication, Journalism& Media Studies.
I don't just teach English or other subjects. I try to understand why the student(s) struggle, know exactly what they need to work on, and make them actually use the language.
