About Eleanor

I am passionate about helping the younger generation discover their creativity, build confidence, and express themselves through reading and writing. As a published poet studying at Columbia University, I believe every student has a unique voice and the ability to develop their own ideas. My goal is to help students discover that potential while creating a supportive and encouraging learning environment.

In a world where AI is becoming increasingly common, I believe it is more important than ever for children and young adults to develop their own writing skills, think independently, and express themselves authentically. I encourage my students to trust their imaginations, explore their ideas, and learn to communicate confidently without relying on AI to do the thinking or writing for them.

Through hands-on activities, personalized guidance, and creative exercises, I help students strengthen their reading comprehension, writing abilities, and critical thinking skills. My experience working with children with special needs and students at higher English proficiency levels has taught me how to adapt my teaching approach to different needs and abilities.

I am committed to helping every student feel confident in their abilities, take pride in their work, and discover the joy of learning. My teaching approach is hands-on, creative, and tailored to each student's individual needs. As a published poet studying at Columbia University, I bring both academic knowledge and real-world creative experience to my English and creative writing lessons. I believe students learn best when they can actively engage with the material, experiment with language, and develop their own unique voices as writers.

My lessons combine interactive exercises, guided writing activities, reading comprehension, vocabulary development, grammar practice, and constructive feedback. A typical lesson begins by identifying the student's goals and reviewing any challenges they may be facing. From there, we work through personalized activities, practice new skills together, and finish by reviewing progress and setting achievable goals for the next session.

I have experience working with children with special needs as well as students who are already at advanced English levels. This has taught me the importance of patience, flexibility, and adapting my teaching style to different learning preferences and abilities. As someone who is a hands-on learner myself, I understand the value of learning by doing, and I incorporate that philosophy into my lessons.

What sets me apart is my ability to meet students where they are, whether they are just beginning to develop their English skills or looking to refine advanced writing techniques. I aim to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and expressing themselves creatively.
