About Elisabeth

Hello, I'm Beth and I'm a Biomedical Science graduate currently working towards a Masters in Bioinformatics. I specialise in human biology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, biochemistry, microbiology, and genetics, as well as general science, maths, excel and general IT skills.

My teaching and tutoring experience is quite varied, allowing me to tailor topics to the student's own learning needs. During my undergraduate degree, I was part of the university's peer assisted learning scheme, facilitating subject-specific learning in small groups of first- and second-year students. I also worked with a student-led society to deliver PSHE lessons to school students in year - this led to my developing a very calm, personable, and flexible teaching style!

A key benefit of my teaching style is an emphasis on study skills. Both as a peer-assisted learning leader and in my formal employment as an information assistant, I put a focus on developing research skills, and ensuring appropriate resources are readily available so students can develop their own knowledge for better undertsanding and retention.

I have some experience working with adults and children with learning difficulties/disabilities, and would be happy to discuss this further as needed.

Please note, my in-person hourly rate reflects the travel costs involved, and will be reduced for regular students, longer sessions, and shorter travel times.

Perfect! Patient, Well-Informed Tutor
Elisabeth is always prompt and extremely strategic. She excersises many different ways of answering one question so I can pick a strategy that works with me long-term. I do not have a problem with understanding her methods of teaching as she is always clear and precise, going over similar questions of the same topic until I’m confident in them. Overall, I could not recommend a better maths tutor!
