★ Mathematics: from difficulty to mastery ★

Many students see mathematics as their biggest academic challenge. I know this feeling well: I once struggled myself, with grades as low as 4/20. Thanks to the right teacher and method, I went from failing to 16/20 in one year.

That personal transformation shaped my vocation. For the last 20 years, I have dedicated my career to helping students achieve excellence in mathematics. I have guided more than 1,200 students across France, Switzerland, Belgium, and now the UAE, from secondary school to university.

I am also the author of exam preparation guides and corrected past papers (Belgian CESS, French Agricultural Baccalaureate, Swiss Maturité), which gives me a deep insight into exam structures and jury expectations.

Proven results

Over 26,000 hours of private lessons delivered.

100% exam success rate for students I coached throughout the year.

Average improvement: +4 to +7 points in one term.

Many students went from struggling to obtaining “Très Bien” distinctions.

Successful admissions to prestigious universities (Polytechnique, HEC Paris, EPFL Lausanne, McGill, Warwick, Bocconi, HEC Lausanne, UNIGE…).

Schools & curricula

In the UAE, I have successfully prepared many students enrolled in French international schools:

Lycée Louis Massignon (Abu Dhabi)

Lycée Français International de Dubaï

Lycée Georges Pompidou (Dubai & Sharjah)

AFLEC schools (Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah)

Beyond the UAE, I have taught students from some of the most prestigious French schools:

Lycée Louis-le-Grand (Paris 5th)

Lycée Henri-IV (Paris 5th)

Stanislas, Franklin, Janson-de-Sailly

And from top Swiss institutions: Ecolint (Geneva International School), Collège du Léman, Institut Le Rosey, Collège Champittet.

Courses offered

Mathematics (secondary, high school, university).

Preparation for exams: French Baccalaureate, IB, IGCSE, A-Levels, SAT/AP, CESS Belgium, Swiss Maturité.

Intensive training for competitive exams: engineering, medicine, business schools.

Methodology coaching: reasoning, problem-solving, time management, stress management.

My method

Initial diagnosis of the student’s level.

Personalized progression plan with measurable objectives.

Clear explanations + practice-focused lessons (not endless theory).

Intensive training with exam-style exercises & corrected past papers.

Continuous support between lessons (WhatsApp follow-up).

With me, students not only improve their grades but also transform their relationship with mathematics. Parents can rely on a rigorous, experienced tutor with an international track record.

★ About My Lessons ★

I know what it means to struggle with mathematics. At 16, I was on the verge of failure, with an average of 4/20. I had to repeat a year and started my final year of high school with a very weak level.
But thanks to the help of a private tutor who gave me a clear and effective method, I regained confidence and went from 4 to 16 in just one year.

That experience shaped my teaching philosophy. For more than 20 years, I have successfully guided hundreds of students in mathematics and other subjects.

My Approach

For the student: restore confidence, simplify concepts, and learn to work with method and efficiency. No useless rote learning: we practice, we understand, and we progress.

For the parents: serious and rigorous follow-up, measurable results, and an experienced independent teacher who has already guided hundreds of students both in France and abroad.

Why My Lessons Work

I know the obstacles, because I experienced them myself.

I know exactly how to help students overcome them.

I use a proven method — the one that transformed me — enriched by more than 20 years of experience.

Each lesson is dynamic and personalized: clear explanations, concrete examples, targeted exercises.

I remain available outside of lessons (WhatsApp for quick questions, homework correction).

Online lessons (Google Meet, Zoom, Teams) are efficient, focused, and time-saving.

My Background

Over 20 years of experience in private tutoring and classroom teaching.

Teacher in France (high schools, MFR, exam preparation centers).

Teacher in several French high schools abroad (Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Tenerife, Thailand).

Today: a full-time independent tutor, recognized for my expertise in supporting both struggling students and ambitious learners aiming for excellence.

Proven Results

100% of my high school students passed math in the French Baccalaureate (most with strong results).

Rapid progress: average improvement of +4 to +8 points in one term.

Many students, once unblocked in math, also improved in physics, chemistry, and biology.

Remarkable successes: “Très Bien” distinctions, admissions into prestigious preparatory classes, and top performance in French international schools abroad.

For the student: dynamic, concrete lessons that restore confidence and enable lasting progress.
For the parents: the guarantee of serious follow-up, a proven method, and results that open the doors to the best opportunities.

I offer a free 20-minute online consultation to evaluate the situation and design a personalized work plan.

  • When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

My passion for teaching started quite early. I have always enjoyed helping others understand concepts that seemed difficult at first. During my studies, I often found myself explaining lessons to classmates, and I quickly realized how rewarding it was to see someone gain confidence through learning.

I started private tutoring more than 17 years ago and immediately loved the personal connection it creates. Unlike a traditional classroom, tutoring allows me to adapt completely to each student's needs, pace, strengths, and challenges. Over time, what began as a side activity became a true vocation.
  • Tell us more about the subject you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

I mainly teach Physics and Chemistry, but I also help students develop study methods, organization skills, and confidence in their abilities.

What I enjoy most is showing students that science is not just a collection of formulas. Physics and chemistry explain the world around us: why the sky is blue, how planes fly, why stars move, or how medicines work. Connecting theory to real-life situations often helps students become more engaged.

If I had to choose a less exciting aspect, it would probably be the purely mechanical memorization of certain concepts. I always try to move beyond memorization and help students truly understand what they are learning.
  • Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

I have been fortunate to meet several inspiring teachers throughout my life. What impressed me most was not necessarily their knowledge, but their ability to make students feel capable.

The teachers who left the biggest impact on me were those who believed in their students even when the students doubted themselves. They taught me that education is not only about transmitting knowledge; it is also about building confidence and encouraging curiosity.
  • What do you think are the qualities required to be a good tutor?

A good tutor needs strong subject knowledge, but that alone is not enough.

Patience, empathy, adaptability, and listening skills are essential. Every student learns differently, and what works for one may not work for another.

A good tutor must also know how to motivate students, identify hidden obstacles, and create a safe environment where mistakes are seen as part of the learning process rather than failures.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

One of my most memorable experiences involved a student who was convinced that science simply "wasn't for him." He had struggled for years and had lost confidence in his abilities.

Instead of focusing immediately on grades, we worked on understanding concepts step by step and rebuilding his confidence. Several months later, he not only passed his exams but achieved results he never thought possible.

What stayed with me was not the grade itself, but seeing the moment when he realized he was capable of succeeding. Those moments are one of the reasons I love tutoring.
  • What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still facing in your subject?

One of the biggest challenges is helping students overcome the fear they often associate with science subjects.

Many students arrive convinced that physics or chemistry are too difficult for them. Often, the real challenge is not the content itself but the lack of confidence built up over years of frustration.

As a teacher, I constantly look for new ways to make complex concepts more accessible and engaging. Education evolves, and we must continue evolving with it.
  • Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

Teaching is definitely one of my greatest passions, but I also love learning and exploring new ideas.

Outside education, I am passionate about travel and discovering different cultures. My family and I have lived and traveled in various countries around the world, and these experiences constantly enrich my perspective as an educator.

Traveling reminds me that there are many different ways to see the world, just as there are many different ways to learn.
  • What makes you a Superprof (besides answering these interview questions :-P) ?

What makes me a Superprof is not only my experience but my commitment to every student I work with.

For more than 17 years, I have helped students of all ages, backgrounds, and academic levels achieve their goals. I adapt my teaching to each individual and focus not only on academic success but also on confidence, autonomy, and long-term progress.

I genuinely believe that every student can succeed when they receive the right guidance. My role is to help them discover their potential and give them the tools to move forward independently. That's what motivates me every day.
