About Andreas

I'm Andreas, a Juilliard-trained tenor and voice teacher. For 20 years I have prepared singers for the stage, for competitions and for conservatoire auditions.

My students have won gold medals at international competitions, reached the finals of The Voice of Greece, and gained places at leading conservatoires and universities.

As a performer I have sung more than 15 opera and musical theatre roles, in productions such as Gianni Schicchi, The Marriage of Figaro, Les Misérables and West Side Story, and on stages from Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center's Avery Fisher Hall to the Israeli Opera. Recently I premiered new works with the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra (Weeping Madonnas) and the TrakArt Orchestra (The River Will Flow). Critics have described me as "a convincing performer" (The New York Times) and "an amazingly adept and versatile performer" (Opera Today).

I was mentored by Plácido Domingo and Sherrill Milnes, have taught voice at university level, and today run a training programme for young singers in Limassol, Cyprus, with a summer workshop and a masterclass series led by international guest coaches.

What matters most to me is that every singer leaves each lesson understanding their voice a little better, and singing with more freedom and confidence than when they arrived.

About the lesson

Talent gets you noticed. Preparation gets you in.

Who I teach: serious singers of every age and level. That includes teenagers preparing for music college, conservatoire or university auditions in the UK, US or Europe; singers building repertoire for competitions and festivals; and adults who want real technique, whether starting out or returning to singing. Repertoire spans opera, art song, oratorio and classical (legit) musical theatre.

What we work on: breath and support, resonance and tone, a smooth passaggio, range extension without strain, vocal health and stamina, lyric diction, interpretation and stagecraft, and audition technique, from choosing repertoire to managing nerves.

How a lesson runs: a warm-up built for your voice, focused technical work, then straight into your repertoire so the technique holds under pressure. You leave every lesson with a short, specific practice plan.

Online: we meet on Zoom with its original-sound setting on, so your voice comes through naturally. Live piano lags over video, so we work with accompaniment tracks. A laptop or tablet and a quiet room are all you need. Cyprus is two hours ahead of the UK.

Under 18? Parents are welcome to sit in on lessons.

Auditions: lessons cover audition repertoire, technique and presentation. For conservatoire applicants I also offer a structured audition programme (repertoire strategy, mock auditions and recorded audition submissions), priced separately from lessons.
