About Natalie

I taught myself Italian from home, which taught me how to make language learning practical, enjoyable, and achievable. I later lived and worked in Italy for a year at a five-star hotel, working in guest relations and regularly acting as a translator between English and Italian. I also had the opportunity to travel extensively around Italy and experience the language in real-life situations.

I speak four other languages and have always found languages exciting rather than a chore. I want to bring that same enthusiasm to my students and show them that learning Italian can be both fun and useful.

Having completed my own language GCSEs and A-Levels relatively recently, I am also very familiar with the syllabus, exam requirements, and techniques needed to succeed.

About the lesson

My lessons are structured but relaxed, with the aim of making Italian fun and taking away the stress of learning a language. We start with vocabulary, grammar, sentence-building, and pronunciation before putting everything into practice through immersion tasks such as listening, reading, and conversation. Lessons are tailored around your interests, so you will be learning about things you genuinely enjoy without even realising how much Italian you are picking up.

We will regularly reflect on your progress and identify areas to improve. As exams approach, I will focus more closely on the GCSE and A-Level syllabus, exam technique, past papers, and strategies for approaching questions confidently.

Homework is not mandatory, but I encourage students to explore their hobbies and interests in Italian between lessons, whether that means watching a video, reading something, or researching a topic they enjoy. My goal is to make Italian feel natural, enjoyable, and achievable. You will be surprised how quickly you can pick it up; I did in 3 months !
