About Katie
My name is Katie Thornton, I am 19 years old and I am a student of Podiatric Medicine in the University of Galway. I completed my Leaving Certificate in 2023 with a H1 in Irish and have spoken the language fluently for 11 years. I tutor Leaving Cert and Junior Cert students of all levels. I wish to give students the best chance of achieving their goal result in Irish and reach their full potential. Ensuring the learning process is a comfortable environment is very important to me with cooperation and dedication from both sides. I've aided many friends and family in this subject which inspired me to teach others.

I mainly focus on exam material, speaking and understanding of the language, study techniques and timing skills. I provide my own notes, homework and will regularly assess your progress. Irish is a difficult, time consuming subject at higher level in Leaving Cert, therefore these students should put in their best efforts learning and practicing the material. Lessons last one hour. I teach in my home in Galway City, but can tutor anywhere around Galway or online.
