About Andrew
I have had a very varied career: - I have provided mental health services in refugee camps. - I have set up my own community cafe. - I have been a chef, a baker, and a pastry chef. - I am a registered social worker that works with children, teenagers, and families to keep them safe. - I have a Bachelor's Degree in International Relations and a Master's Degree in Social Work. I also have very diverse hobbies: - I enjoy Contact Improvisation and other dance forms. - I have a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. - I write poetry, short stories, essays, and blogs. - I regularly go hiking and running in the mountains. - I am about to learn how to freedive and spearfish. In our first session, we'll talk about your wants, needs, and goals. I will then create lesson plans based on your specific needs. For example, if you're focused on conversational English, we can choose some topics that you're interested in. I will then research some important words, phrases, and grammar that you might encounter in these conversations. Through a conversational style, we will integrate these words and phrases. If you are focusing on written English, I will set you some written tasks and we will review them together. I will offer you concrete feedback and we will work together to integrate what you've learned into future writing. My strength as a teacher is my flexibility and my individual focus - the classes will be led by your individual needs.
