A Typical Lesson Plan Each lesson begins with a brief check-in to set goals and review previous content. I introduce new skills using direct instruction, model the process, and then guide students through practice using step-by-step strategies. Depending on the student’s needs, I incorporate visuals, manipulatives, or real-life examples. The lesson ends with a quick review or formative assessment and a preview of what’s next. I always aim to keep sessions positive, purposeful, and paced to the student’s comfort level.
