About Luís

I am a Portuguese pianist studying with Murray McLachlan at the Royal Northern College of Music (RNCM). I began my piano studies in Lisbon at the age of 12; three years later, I gave my first one-hour solo recital. At the age of 16, I made my solo debut with orchestra at the Centro Cultural de Belém, one of the largest concert halls in Portugal, after winning the Jovem Solista EPM / Prémio INATEL.

- In 2023, a prize winner in four national and international competitions. - In 2024, the youngest finalist of the Yamaha Music Europe Foundation scholarships in Portugal.
- In 2025, first place in the regional EPTA UK, invited to perform at Chetham’s International Piano Summer School, and finalist at the WMSO Young Musician Concerto Competition.

I am an active researcher on subjects related to music psychology, as well as on the life and works of underrepresented 20th-century composers such as Sergei Bortkiewicz. I was also a young tutor affiliated with the Gregorian Institute of Lisbon. And so far—it’s only been success stories!

Thank you for reading this far:)

Above all, I prioritise the wellbeing of my students, which I believe is the most essential element in successful piano learning.

I offer lessons from beginner to advanced level, aimed for all ages. Based on your goals and interests, you can learn:

- music theory
- music history
- solfège
