About Jure
Hi there!
My name is Jure Zorko, I'm 34 years old and I come from Slovenia, Middle Europe.
I am an International Master with a current FIDE rating of 2465. I have been playing and studying chess for about 25 years, regularly participating in European and World youth championships.
Playing highlights:
- Shared 10th place at World Chess Championship U14, Spain (101 players)
- Silver medal on 1st board at Youth Olympiad U16, Ukraine
- 3rd board for Slovenian National Team at Mitropa Cup, Switzerland 2010
- 1st place, National rapid championship (2010, 2017), 1st place, - National blitz championship (2014, 2015)
- 38th place, European blitz championship, Tallin 2016
Coaching highlights:
- Coached multiple National Champions in youth categories. I am regularly working as a coach in Slovenian chess clubs and online for the last 7 years
- Worked as a coach at several European and World Youth Chess Championships
- I coached in Abu Dhabi Chess Club 2014 - 2015
- I achieved the official title of FIDE trainer, 2015
- My students were European and World youth champions

About the lesson

My goal is to teach students chess understanding not just learn moves by heart. I bring you a chess school experience, tailored to your individual needs.
When I first arrange the lesson, a student prepares about 3 of his recent games (preferably longer time controls) and we analyze them.
Game analysis is the focus of our lessons and is supported by theoretical knowledge every chess player should know - endgame and opening theory, middlegame examples.
The student is given study material to work at home which we check at the start of the next lesson.
I teach with a tested method based on Russian ex-World Champion Botvinnik's Chess School which produced champions like Garry Kasparov and Vladimir Kramnik.
