About Anna
I am a passionate violin tutor with 8 years of teaching and professional music experience, dedicated to helping students grow both musically and personally. I teach violin to school and college students at all levels, from beginners taking their first steps to advanced learners preparing for exams, recitals, and performances.
One of the most rewarding milestones in my career has been guiding students from struggling with posture, technique, or confidence to performing confidently and expressively on stage. My teaching emphasises strong fundamentals such as posture, finger placement, bow control, rhythm, tone, and intonation, while also nurturing musical creativity, expression, and interpretation.
I integrate music theory, sight-reading, and listening exercises to help students develop a well-rounded understanding of music. Every student is unique, so I adapt lessons to match individual pace, goals, and learning style, creating a positive, patient, and encouraging environment. Teaching violin allows me to inspire students to build confidence, discipline, and a lifelong love for music.

I teach violin using a methodology centred on motivation, communication, creativity, and integrity, aiming to develop technically skilled, expressive, and confident musicians. Lessons are designed to challenge students appropriately while encouraging creativity, self-expression, and personal growth.
Motivation drives my teaching. I help students set achievable goals, monitor progress, and celebrate achievements, creating a sense of accomplishment and enthusiasm. Communication fosters an open dialogue where students feel encouraged to ask questions, share ideas, and discuss challenges, ensuring they are supported at every step.
Creativity is emphasised through improvisation, interpretation, and composition exercises, allowing students to explore and develop their unique artistic voice. Integrity teaches discipline, responsible practice, and respect for the craft, laying a strong foundation for long-term growth.
Along with violin, I teach music theory, sight-reading, ear training, rhythm exercises, and basic piano, giving students a comprehensive foundation in music. My approach ensures that students develop technical, artistic, and emotional skills while fostering a lifelong passion for music.
