Perfect! Mr Sean was chosen by me through 'Superprof' to tutor me in the art of Chess.
His enthusiasm in replying to my request for lessons was prompt and efficient and his manner
extremely pleasant; one could not help but like him from the onset.
I have been playing on Chess.com online against people from around the world at my level for a
number of years; but my understanding of Chess was sadly lacking, particularly in all three areas of the
game that must be addressed, i.e. the Beginning, Middle and End game.
Initially, Sean helped me with my first moves, advising me of different 'openings' to start the game,
and he was familiar with what letter and number identified all squares on a Chessboard; something
which a tutor must know when teaching the student. For instance, if I wanted to set up certain situations
on the board I had to use the letter and number that identified a certain square and the piece I wanted on
it, so Sean could explain what to do in certain situations. (All Chessboards are marked accordingly).
We played Chess against each other and when we were at the stage of the Middle game, his extensive
knowledge showed me all a number of other moves I had at my disposal.
Sean also assisted me in the End game, making me 'see' other moves than the ones I had been
monotonously playing for some time.
Overall, I found him extremely adaptable and patient. Sean showed me how to identify 'The Pin' in
exactly ten minutes; something which I did not understand, and something I have struggled with all this time.
If you are a beginner looking for a patient, kind and understanding Chess tutor able to show you from
the beginning to....... (I don't think there is an end to Chess, because every game is different!), then
Sean is your man. He plays one-to-one or online, and is a tutor I highly respect and recommend.
Payment is simple. I like to pay him before each lesson, however you can book five or ten lessons at
once and pay immediately. Sean charges $30/hour, which is very reasonable for his valuable time.
Thank you 'Superprof' for having such a wonderful tutor.
FrancesPerfect! As a 700elo chess player, I was looking for someone to help me improve at the game of chess. That’s when I found Sean. He is incredibly patient, very knowledgeable, and explains things in a way that’s easy to understand. Hes taught me how to find more tactical opportunities, how to keep the initiative and dominate when I’m attacking, how to make a plan, sticking to good chess principles and much more. I look forward to seeing what the future holds. I’d highly recommend Sean to anyone looking to improve their chess.

Sean and I were colleagues at Ubisoft. He dives into difficult problem spaces without fear and has a knack for finding creative and elegant solutions. He is patient and passionate about his work, making him an excellent mentor for anyone on their game dev journey.
Sean is a super friendly and very approachable guy, with a wealth of knowledge about games and a great sense of humor. He enjoys teaching and is just an overall great guy to be around!
Sean is a legend. Super patient and takes the time to adapt to my learning style. Awesome communication and nothing is too much trouble! Very genuine human. Thank you, Sean!
Sean is an amazing game developer. He’s been working in it professionally for many years now and excels at it. Even when we were in university studying game development, he always had a good mind for it.
Obviously, knowledge alone doesn’t always make a good teacher, but with Sean, you get a person who’s also had multiple years of experience working as a teacher for a renowned university.
Would highly recommend Sean if you’re seeking to learn any aspect of game development.I am a member of the Discord community for a game called Vicious Legacy, a game which Sean develops and tracks his development journey in devlogs via Youtube. In Sean's devlogs he explains his ideas and the methods he uses to implement them in a clear and concise manner. This makes the devlogs not only entertaining, but highly educational as well. Sean is very transparent and communicative with the Vicious Legacy community, and combined with his clear knowledge of game development I have full confidence in his ability to teach others.
Sean is an excellent teacher; he doesn’t just have the game development background, he also has a lot of experience lecturing, and it shows. Super friendly and knowledgeable.
