About Muniyat

I am a dedicated Public Health student with expertise in biostatistics and epidemiology at the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health. I graduated summa cum laude from Macaulay Honors College with a degree in Medical Anthropology and Archaeological Sciences on the Pre-med track. Beyond my academic pursuits, I am deeply passionate about music and singing, which enrich my life and inspire creativity. My leadership roles include serving as President of the Graduate Student Government Association and contributing to impactful research at the Advanced Science Research Center. These experiences have not only strengthened my analytical skills but also honed my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, catering to diverse learning styles. With a profound commitment to professionalism and a genuine enthusiasm for helping students succeed, I aim to instill confidence and empower students to excel in their academic journeys.

About the lesson

As a tutor, I employ a student-centered approach focused on fostering understanding and confidence in my students. My teaching method begins with assessing each student's strengths, weaknesses, and learning style to tailor my approach accordingly. I emphasize interactive learning through engaging examples and practical applications, ensuring concepts are not only understood but also retained long-term.

I believe in a structured yet flexible approach to tutoring. I start by identifying the specific areas where the student requires assistance. For instance, in ACT preparation, I break down each section (English, Math, Reading, Science, and Writing) into manageable parts, focusing on strategies for time management, question comprehension, and effective problem-solving techniques. I incorporate real ACT practice questions and exams to simulate the testing environment and enhance familiarity with the format.

Typical Lesson Plan:

Assessment and Goal Setting: Evaluate current ACT performance and set achievable goals.
Topic Coverage: Targeted review of content areas based on individual needs.
Practice and Application: Practice sessions with timed drills and full-length tests.
Feedback and Review: Provide constructive feedback on strengths and areas for improvement.
Strategy Development: Develop personalized strategies for tackling different question types.

My tutoring services cater to high school students aiming to excel in the ACT exam. Whether preparing for college admissions or seeking to improve their scores, my lessons are tailored to meet the specific needs of each student, ensuring personalized support that maximizes their potential.
