About Lara

Hi! I'm Lara.

After previously working as a swim teacher for a couple of years, I decided to change disciplines and work as a tutor. I have been tutoring for a couple of months, alongside my English / History degree at a Russel Group University. My 2 A*'s and an A at A Level have enriched my understanding of how to study for exams and make learning fun. I have now been tutoring for just under a year. I have a DBS check for safeguarding purposes, as well as having been on safeguarding courses in the past.

I love to help students find a love for learning with my fun, individualised approach to lessons. I have experience working with students with SEND requirements and have some school-based experience as well.

One parent has reviewed me on another site stating: 'Lara has already given my 16 year old some valuable GCSE revision with more scheduled. He finds the lessons informative and enjoyable. Lara has connected really well with my son, engaging him in the sessions and providing self guided revision options for him in his free time. My son also has social communication disabilities and finds it very hard to connect with people. I’d highly recommend Lara and wish her luck in her future career.'

About the lesson

I approach lessons eager to create a fun learning environment to help with recalling ideas from these lessons. I want to enrich my student's knowledge not only in History but also in the art of communicating their ideas.

I teach Key Stage 3 all the way up to A Level History. I have been tutoring for just under a year now and was a swim teacher for 3 years before moving to tutoring.
