About Catherine
Apart from teaching, I have been tutoring for approximately 15 years and I find it very fulfilling.
Tuition provides the opportunity to meet a wide range of young people and, focusing on their particular goals, to develop specific strategies and learning plans to suit different types of learners. Moreover, it has allowed me to study a great range of topics, courses and eras, national and global.
I teach AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Cambridge and IB - national and international courses.
Currently, I am an examiner for IB Diploma and have previously examined for AQA and OCR.
I am experienced in inclusive education and teaching students with ESL, SEN and Dyslexia.
I am based in Germany, where I have taught in accredited International Schools for several years.

I have developed a specialist approach in one-to-one remote learning for students worldwide, during years of teaching in England (West Yorkshire and Kent) and internationally (South America, Japan, Bangladesh and Germany). I have completed school-led training in inclusive education and am experienced in teaching students with ESL and SEN.
The first session is free and is an opportunity to find out more about the type of tuition, the course and the resources that are available. It provides an ‘ice breaker’ so that tuition can be an enjoyable as well as an effective experience. We can also use this time to talk directly, parent/tutee to tutor and you will receive a copy of the presentation for the course you are pursuing.
The focus of the tuition will be based on your requirements - e.g. knowledge, application and writing skills, with particular focus on ESL. Emphasis can be assigned to sourcework, essays, investigative writing (e.g. NEA, IA and EE) or to specific papers. A schedule will be created, which will form the basis of the course of the tuition.
I use Microsoft Teams and OneNote, for the interactive approach. On Google Drive there will be a shared folder where I will put all resources provided for each session. You will have a link so that you can go back to these resources at any time after the session, until you complete tuition.

Details
1. Rates are based on an academic hour (60 minutes). In some cases, shorter or longer sessions may be recommended.
2. The first session is free and is an opportunity to find out more about the type of tuition, the course and the resources that are available. It provides an ‘ice breaker’ so that tuition can be an enjoyable as well as an effective experience.
3. Further bookings are made with a prepayment covering 4 sessions (4 x 60 minutes) over a four week period, thus ensuring continuity and preferential availability. Please note - Where tuition is part of a homeschool programme, the recommended number of taught hours set by the exam board should be considered at the outset.
4. Tuition fees are paid before the first session of the cycle. Payment is made off-platform and account details will be provided. The fee includes a shared folder with access to personalised resources and interactive tools during the period of paid tuition.
5. Free cancellations apply up to 24 hours before each session.
