About Aly

Do you need help with: French? (GCSE/A Level) -> History? (GCSE/A Level) I am a Masters student at Kings College London, and formally attended Queen Elizabeth's Boys School Barnet, studying A-Level Maths, Economics, History and French. I have 500+ hours of teaching History and French. I achieved all 9s (A**) at GCSE, with 2 A* in examinations that used the old specification. I also achieved all As at AS Level, and I received A*A*A*A* for my A-Level qualifications. Based on my academic merit alongside my contributions to my community, I received the coveted Lester B Pearson International Scholarship to the University of Toronto (100% full ride scholarship) (concealed information) My high grades are a result of a combination of factors. The help I sought from my teachers and peers at subject clinics at school helped me identify my strengths and weaknesses. I am able to pinpoint the relevant aspects of each specification and I feel that I have a solid understanding of what examiners are looking for. I am aware of the overwhelming number of resources available and I feel that I am able to successfully identify which resources are relevant and how to use them properly. Finally, I have developed exam techniques for each subject that I believe will ensure top marks! The support I received, as well as my personal revision methods, have shaped the way I teach. I first work to identify a student's strengths and areas of improvement with a baseline test or a set of sample questions; I use these to adapt my teaching methods to how they feel they learn best. No two students learn in the same way- I am able to provide custom worksheets, resources, notes, subject knowledge and encouragement to ensure they are confident in their learning. All my students will benefit from up-to-date exam guidance, helping tackle every specification point in the new and updated GCSE and A level qualifications. Furthermore, I regularly check up on my student’s progress, and ensure they are armed with a robust exam technique, giving them the best possible chance at success! I believe that any student is capable of success and that there is no one way to achieve it. My students will find that I am not only a dedicated tutor but also a source of support in dealing with the challenges of these secondary school examinations.
