About Homi
As a dedicated trumpet educator, I believe that every student deserves a learning experience that is inspiring, personalised, and focused on long-term success. My passion for teaching comes from seeing students transform their curiosity into confidence and their effort into meaningful musical achievement.
Over the years, I have worked with students of different ages, backgrounds, and experience levels, from complete beginners learning their very first notes to advanced musicians preparing for auditions, examinations, competitions, concerts, and professional performances.
I understand that every student learns differently, which is why I carefully adapt my teaching methods to suit individual learning styles, strengths, challenges, and musical goals.
My lessons focus on developing a solid technical foundation through proper posture, breathing techniques, embouchure formation, articulation, tone production, rhythm, scales, note reading, finger coordination, and music theory before gradually introducing more advanced concepts such as flexibility exercises, endurance training, range development, lip slurs, dynamics, phrasing, sight reading, ear training, orchestral repertoire, jazz improvisation, solo literature, ensemble performance, and audition preparation.
Beyond technical instruction, I emphasise confidence building, creative expression, disciplined practice habits, and performance readiness so students develop into complete musicians rather than simply learning to play notes. I believe that music should be enjoyable, motivating, and rewarding, and I strive to create a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and celebrating progress.
Every lesson includes constructive feedback, personalised practice plans, practical demonstrations, and achievable goals that encourage continuous improvement. My greatest satisfaction comes from watching students gain confidence, perform successfully, and develop a lifelong appreciation for music and the trumpet.

My trumpet lessons are designed to help students develop exceptional technical skills, musical expression, and confidence through personalised one-on-one instruction. Whether you are a beginner learning your first notes or an advanced player preparing for concerts, competitions, auditions, or examinations, every lesson is customised to meet your goals.
Students begin by mastering posture, breathing techniques, embouchure formation, articulation, rhythm, tone production, note reading, and scales before progressing to flexibility exercises, range development, endurance training, phrasing, dynamics, sight reading, ear training, and musical interpretation.
Advanced students receive coaching in orchestral excerpts, solo repertoire, jazz improvisation, ensemble performance, advanced tonguing techniques, and stage presence. My lessons also include warm-up routines, practice planning, and performance strategies that help students improve efficiently while enjoying every stage of learning.
