About Jacqueline
I've never been an official tutor, but I've taught my little sister, I'm a current teaching assistant, and I occasionally tutor my friends! I've always been told that I have a talent for teaching from my peers; wanting to become a teacher since I was young has helped me realize what kind of educator I want to become. To me, you are a sprout ready to be nurtured and cared for so that all your flowers can bloom fantastically! I will be the sun, the water, and the soil to help you become the best you can be. Hello! I'm interested in becoming your English tutor. If you're a student struggling with writing an essay, understanding a piece of literature, or simply proofreading a letter, I'm here for you!
My teaching methods include step-by-step instructions, as well as constant memorization. This means I explain the required steps and ask you to repeat them back to me to help you learn them quickly.
A typical lesson plan would first be a review of our previous lesson, making sure you didn't have any problems with the process or any questions about what you learned. Then we either elaborate on said topic of move on to a different one! This can include reading an on-level book, practice writing an essay, or proofreading one! English is a various subject; there's so much to learn!
As an older sister and a teaching assistant for my Saturday classes, patience has become second nature to me. I'm great with slow learners and VERY open-minded: don't be scared to speak your thoughts and ask all your questions! That's what I'm here for. I want to nurture a safe space of learning and enrichment for you.
My lessons are mostly for 9th-10th graders and middle school students. I'm an 11th grader myself, but I'm classified as a college-leveled student. I'm confident that I'll have all the answers to your questions!
