About Swetha

I am a dedicated Bharatanatyam practitioner trained in the Kalakshetra style, holding a Master’s degree in Bharatanatyam and recognized as a B High graded artist. My journey in classical dance is rooted in strong academic training, disciplined practice, and consistent stage experience, which has helped me develop maturity in this art form.
As a teacher, I focus on creating a supportive learning environment where students can grow with confidence at their own pace. My approach emphasizes strong fundamentals, while also helping students understand the rhythm, meaning, and cultural essence behind each movement.
Each class is designed to be engaging, systematic, and tailored to individual goals.
If you are looking for guided, authentic training in Bharatanatyam with both academic and performance-based insight, I would be happy to support your learning journey.

About the lesson

Teaching Approach & Methodology
I follow a holistic approach to teaching Bharatanatyam, focusing on building a strong foundation while adapting to each student’s individual pace of learning. My classes are thoughtfully structured to balance both theory and practical training, ensuring that students not only learn the movements but also understand the cultural context, rhythm, and expressive depth of the art form.

Teaching Techniques & Methods
• Step-by-step breakdown of adavus with a strong emphasis on posture, alignment, and precision
• Integration of theoretical concepts such as hastas, talam, and repertoire knowledge alongside practical training
• Regular feedback and corrections to support clarity, confidence, and refinement
• Customized lesson plans tailored to each student’s level, goals, and learning pace

Who Are These Classes For?
• Beginners starting their Bharatanatyam journey
• Intermediate and advanced students looking to refine technique and expand their repertoire
• Adults who wish to learn or reconnect with classical dance
• Students preparing for performances
