About Pia
With a BA in Musicology (Piano History) and 3 years of teaching experience, I specialize in jazz piano instruction. My focus is on improvisation, comping, and developing a sophisticated harmonic vocabulary. I integrate jazz theory, ear training, transcription, and rhythm exercises into every lesson. I’ve guided students from Early Intermediate to Advanced Intermediate levels, and even Professional jazz musicians. Lessons are tailored to individual goals and encourage creativity, curiosity, and technical mastery. I emphasize connecting theoretical knowledge to expressive performance at the piano. Students develop confidence in improvisation and ensemble playing. We work on phrasing, chord voicings, and harmonic exploration to deepen musical understanding. My approach balances technical skill, musicality, and spontaneity. Lessons incorporate listening, transcription, and guided experimentation. Each session builds expressive freedom and jazz fluency. I strive to make learning challenging, inspiring, and enjoyable. Together, we can unlock your full potential at the piano. Begin your journey into spontaneous jazz expression today.

I teach piano by focusing on pop styles, modern techniques, and practical music-making. Lessons include chord voicings, playing by ear, and arranging contemporary songs. Hobbyist Adults and Pop Players gain confidence in playing songs they love. My methodology emphasizes creativity, hands-on learning, and connecting theory with practice. Students explore rhythmic patterns, melody, and harmonization for pop music. I encourage improvisation and experimentation with arrangements. Lessons are tailored to each student’s pace and goals. We work on technical skills, musicality, and expressive playing. Mistakes are celebrated as a natural part of learning. Students leave sessions ready to play and adapt songs independently. I integrate ear training, chord knowledge, and arrangement techniques. Lessons are interactive, enjoyable, and practical. Together, we unlock the secrets of pop piano and make learning engaging.
