About Nkechi

I am a passionate and dedicated tutor with over 10 years of teaching experience and a background in Educational Guidance and Counseling. I teach Mathematics, Basic Science, and Igbo Language to primary school pupils in Primary 1–6.

My approach to tutoring is centered on making learning enjoyable, interactive, practical, and easy to understand. I believe every child has the potential to excel academically when taught with patience, encouragement, and the right teaching methods.

I teach Mathematics, Science, and Igbo Language to pupils in Primary 1–6, aged 5–10 years, J.S.S 1 to 3. My goal is to help pupils build a strong academic foundation, improve their confidence, develop critical thinking skills, and cultivate a positive attitude towards learning.

I assess each child's learning needs, strengths, and areas for improvement before developing lessons that suit their age, class level, and learning pace. I also encourage pupils to ask questions, participate actively, and practice what they learn.

Whether your child needs help understanding difficult topics, preparing for examinations, improving classroom performance, or developing stronger foundational skills, I provide supportive and personalized lessons to help them succeed.

My Teaching Techniques and Methodology

Mathematics:
I use practical examples, number games, counting objects, visual aids, and step-by-step explanations to help pupils understand mathematical concepts. I teach topics such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, measurements, shapes, and word problems according to the child's class level. My aim is to help pupils understand the principles behind mathematical operations rather than simply memorizing answers.

Basic Science:
I make Science interesting by connecting lessons to children's everyday experiences. I use demonstrations, pictures, simple experiments, observation activities, and questions to help pupils understand topics such as plants, animals, the human body, the environment, health, and matter. I encourage curiosity and help children develop observation, reasoning, and problem-solving skills.

Igbo Language:
I teach Igbo through conversations, pronunciation exercises, vocabulary building, storytelling, songs, reading, and writing activities. Pupils learn greetings, common expressions, names of objects, sentence formation, and other topics appropriate to their class level. I encourage children to speak and practice Igbo confidently while developing their listening, reading, and writing skills.

My Teaching Methods Include:

1. Interactive learning: Encouraging pupils to participate actively in lessons.
2. Demonstration and practical activities: Helping children learn by seeing and doing.
3. Personalized instruction: Adapting lessons to each child's abilities and learning needs.

Typical Length of a Lesson

My typical lesson lasts between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on the child's age, attention span, class level, and learning needs.

For younger pupils, particularly those aged 5–7, I incorporate shorter learning activities, visual aids, games, and movement breaks to maintain concentration.

For older pupils, aged 8–10, I provide more detailed explanations, guided practice, problem-solving activities, and independent exercises.

A typical lesson may include:

5 minutes: Review of previous learning and introduction to the topic.
10–15 minutes: Explanation and demonstration of the new concept.
15–20 minutes: Guided practice and interactive activities.
10 minutes: Independent exercises and assessment.
5 minutes: Summary, feedback, and homework where necessary.

The lesson structure is flexible and can be adjusted to suit the child's needs and the subject being taught.

My Qualifications and Experience as a Tutor

I have a background in Educational Guidance and Counseling and over 10 years of teaching experience. My experience includes teaching primary school pupils across different class levels, from early primary education to Primary 6.
